When Ayurveda is used for maintaining health, it is called as “Swasthavrutham Practices”, where the medicinal preparations , the panchakarma therapies and the food and regime is employed for containing and curing a diseases , it is then called as “ Athuravrutham Practices” where the objective is to manage a disease.
The Swasthavrutham and the Athuravrutham practices of Ayurveda are the two sides of the same coin and often remain complimentary to each other.
